20mm Hispano Projectile

The attached picture shows a 20mm Hispano Cannon projectile. It is in a fired BMARCo case so the projectile is probably not original to it. A hand written description on the case states it is an experimental French solid tipped ball round. The paint looks original to me and there are no stampings anywhere. Can anyone confirm this or provide any other information about this paint scheme.
