.30 Carbine h/s and a .45 AR

Ran across these two in the digging.
First, a .30 Carbine with a 7.62 X 33 h/s

Had never seen that before. But, I never really looked.

And then this .45 AR above a .45 ACP. I vaguely recall firing them in an old Webley revolver.

Moving right along with all this sorting. Finding a few interesting ones.

The .45 AR or Auto-Rim was developed by Peters Cartridge Company around 1920 for use in the Colt and Smith & Wesson 6 shot revolvers purchased by the U.S. Government during WW1 and chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge held in half-moon clips (3 cartridges per clip). Without the half-moon clips the .45 ACP cartridges would slide all the way into the cylinder and could not be fired. After the war many of the revolvers were sold to civilians. Since the .45 AR cartridge had a rim there was no need to use the half-moon clips as the rim kept the cartridge form sliding all the way into the cylinder.
