When I returned to the same place today I of course found another 18pr ~
An ex-lamp and it may well remain one. Now to clean it, though
I don't expect much :tinysmile_cry_t2: ~

And indeed it had been rather worked over and the markings are gone. Or so I thought, under rust on the base
there were a few, not enough to figure a date but something at least. This is where having a lathe
or at least the end of one would be a great asset to cleaning and polishing such as this.

Every time I hear about the ww1 shell shortage I think of all the lamps i've seen (a great many for 1915) and wonder ~
