Cal. .50 projectiles and penetrators

The right hand one, fired, with the "divots"(3 equidistant). Short range? Holding something in? It is magnetic. Amazingly good condition considering it went downrange.

Penetrators. Is the little one inside the big one? Looks like it from the stub ended one. I always thought the large penetrator was solid. Tungsten or some such.

UPDATE: Did some more searching and saw where a similar "3 divot" projectile is a Norwegian reduced range.
