Strange krupp fuze

Hi guys saw this strange fuze recently. Almost a 100 percent the made in Germany text is some postwar thing, but the rest of the writing looks legitimate.

very nice! The same fuze was just discussed here: http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/threads/97889-British-fuze-T-amp-P-17-seconds

I have several Krupp fuzes with "Fried. Krupp" markings. But not one with a "Made in Germany". That's really weird but it looks genuine to me. The font style is 100% the same for all words on your fuze and it it the same as on my fuzes. Even with CNC technology it would be a very hard work to fake these markings because they were "roll stamped".

The "Made in Germany" could have been there because of the "Merchandise Marks Act 1887". It should orignially identify poor quality german products sold on the british market.

I think it's something like a commercial product sample. This type of fuzes was invented between ~1900 and ~1910.

You know what your explanation for the made in germany text makes way more sense. it shares the same font, size, is absolutely perfect, and it had to have been marked into this when it was still hot so there is no way it could have been easily added on later with no markings indicating it being scratched in

Thought i would give an update on this thread. I finally picked up the fuze and got it apart. If definitely seems to be some desk ornament from the factory or designed as a sales sample, based upon the made in Germany text, and the bottom of the fuze indicates that.
