Complete Target Practice Round for the US M41 Walker Bulldog Tank 1953

I was finally able to find a case and projectile for this tank. The case is a T19E1B1 steel version. The target practice projectile is a T212 E1. Notice how most of the driving band fits inside the case neck. It retains just a hint of its original blue paint.

Nice round. I found this Bulldog and Skysweeper at a maw and Paw auction last year. My understanding is they are both rare rounds. I would like to know what the black painted lettering on the Bulldog case would mean, " Lot ARG-305".

Great stuff, both of you! That's a great complete Bulldog round...and 917601, love the Skysweeper round...I have a case, the search for the projectile continues...

Outstanding examples all around...

I believe yours is the first Skysweeper projectile that I have ever seen. The cases and projectiles for both weapons are very hard to find in the US.

I found this photo on the internet. It has the head stamp of a 1944 dated 3 inch Mark II M2 case converted to a 76mm T19E1. And, it is now mine as I bought this one plus another on ebay.

One of the easiest cases to find in NZ.
Steel examples in my collection ......T19E1 .... T19E1B1 ... M88B1
Also have a brass T19E1

But have never seen a projectile

Here is an example of an M88B1 case that I found in the US.

If you like collecting "families" of cartridge cases based on earlier ones, then it's worth noting that the 76 mm T19 case was used as the basis for the ammo of the Italian/Israeli 60 x 410R mm AFV gun.

Here is a comparison of the 3 inch case in the middle with a T19E1 on the left and a steel M88 case on the right. They did cut down the 3 inch case a few millimeters for this conversion.
