Got lucky at the DACA Show I was set up this past weekend in Dallas, and found this nice 1938 dated PaK 36 AP round...with a hybrid case....

The projectile is marked several places with a "C", which I knows means something, but don't remember what...the base is marked 32 DL609 1938 C. The driving band has 2 Nazi style E/352 WaA's, and a "C"...it has original paint, but markings are faded, there appears to be a red "C", and a grey or white "C" stenciled on it, along with several numbers, 522, and 33...there is also a 33 on the driving band...

The case is brass with a steel head...it is a 1937 case, and has a primer...no base fuze sadly....

All in all a vry nice round, IMHO, I was happy to get it, it goes well with my 1936 round which I will also post in here...to show the family as it were...:tinysmile_classes_t

And just to complete the family....a PaK 36 HE round...1938 dated case...but a 43 dated projectile and fuze, so likely not original together...but completes my small PaK 36 family.

The C means that it is a projectile with a welded tip and the name of this projektile is "3,7cm Pzgr. V".
DL609 (Richard Stock & Co., Spiralbohrer-, Werkzg.- u. Masch.-Fabrik) is the manufacturer of the projectile and 33 is the key figure of the Explosive mixture.

And just to complete the family....a PaK 36 HE round...1938 dated case...but a 43 dated projectile and fuze, so likely not original together...but completes my small PaK 36 family.

Many cases were reused, especially the 3,7cm Pal cases. Even pzgr crimped cases were recrimped for tungsten core pzgr 40 projectiles. It was all about recycle and reuse. As long as the design is a match with the projectike type don't worry.

There are a few more members to the family but looking good so far.

Very hard to find items in the US in nice condition.

The guy actually had 4 of them, I chose the nicest, but if I would have had a better show, I would have bought all of them...2 were missing primers, and all of the other 3 had later AP projectiles, with narrow driving bands, and the shorter projectiles...they may have been 37mm FlaK projectiles?

They were this type...

And thanks much Rigby and StielGr for the information, it is appreciated!

I know I have to try and find a PzGr 40 round....maybe someday!

I like the APC Czech rounds too....

Just to give an idea how big the 3,7cm Pak family is and don't forget the different case designs.
