Incredibly rare exploding 'rat bomb'

OMG the L Delay is round the wrong way, these fakers just cannot get it right,,,,,,,, Lol

Oh no, now you guys are going to need special licences if you get caught with rats, how are the authorities going to know they are inert rats??(paraphrase Monty Python.."Hes an ex-Rat")

If anyone fancies a bid at the auction:

And a previous one sold by Bonhams:

Tom.

A few thoughts.

IF the one coming up for sale is genuine, someone would have had to unstitch the skin, remove the PE, stuff it with a safe substance, and then sew it back up again. It seems like a lot of effort to create a training item so that the German forces would know what a stuffed rat looks like.

OR maybe it’s genuine and still stuffed with PE.

The label on the one that was sold previously looks like it was written after the label was scrunched and creased, as the writing looks fresh and is clearly readable. The auctioneers description of it having a space for explosives to be inserted does not match the usual description of a rat skin being sewn around the PE filling.

Perhaps it was steamed out with superheated steam. Which might also explain why it's bald.

I think the one sold by Bonhams has landed in an American Museum.
