Mauser muzzle cover

May someone help IDing this piece? It has a letter G with a symbol which vaguely resembles a standing lion (I am probably wrong) and number 1770. Thanks aforehand.

I thought I was imagining a rampant lion but...I may be not. Here is a pic of an FN made rifle with a similar design. So Belgium, Holland and whoever else have a lion (Bulgaria?) are suspects.

It's a german muzzle cover for Gewehr 98. I don't know the manufacturer (G), but there were a lot of different company's who made them.
