British Elia contact mine restauration.

The task was to give this British (Vickers) Elia a second life. Standing as a garden ornament for the last 35 years, and probably before that life as a buoy due to the green and red color. The years had left a big gaping hole in the bottom, the place where the firing gear was mounted.
The firing gear was a bit of a mystery to me, until Bill aka "Lostround" provided photos of his U.S. build Elia Mk VI and disassembled the firing gear on my behalf to get to the details. So thanks go out to him for the invested time and effort these things make the task a pleasure.

The hole had to be patched after a long search/and drive I found the piece of metal that had to be welded in.

Color and markings had to be applied. The markings on the mine I have taken from old photos of washed up mines. Its is now a early Mk IV. Charge 220 lbs TNT actual weight 448 lbs. The Mk V has actual weight 440 lbs.
