This part of Air & Space Museum http://sandiegoairandspace.org/museum/gillespie-field-annex is where things too big for Balboa Park are stored/displayed. For me the presence of the ONLY surviving Skyshark was the pinnacle of the visit. Seeing that Skyraider-borrowed tail and twin nose propellers was cool. The Flying Banana which is presently in shambles and about to undergo a restoration is probably the ONLY aircraft blessed by a sitting Pope in Vatican's St Peter's Catherdral Square https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=343NeEduvHQ.
