    what is the full headstamp for starters and the blackening is definitly nothing to do with a charger for sure it has been deliberatly darkended, I have many .303 ball bullets with the cannular mainly from US but letsa start with the full headstamp and if you could pull the bullet that would help greatly. Is it a live round

    hi Rich, see the attached. The headstamp reads 'R broad arrow L 1937 VII' but the bullet is a tracer so is presumably not original to the case. The colour band does more or less match with a clip but equally appears too even to be random staining. The head is not coloured. I wouldn't worry any more about it, its going back in the box where it came from!
