Help with two small CF cartridges

Have two small inert CF cartridges that originally had small sticky labels with the following:

    (i) 22VShort

    (ii) 7mmFrench?

Is it possible that the 'V' in (i) could mean 'very' or 'Velo?'

Would be grateful if anyone could provide clarification, or additional background information.

The dimensions of the two, in mm, are:

    (i)
    Case: 12.65
    Rim: 7.00
    Base: 6.05
    Bullet: 5.06
    OAL: 18.30

    (ii)
    Case: 13.85
    Rim: 9.05
    Base: 7.80
    Bullet: 7.40
    OAL: 21.60

I have a feeling that both are French, but; have found no definitive answers.

    No headstamps.

Any help in identification would be much appreciated.

I see no-one has answered your queries yet.
I think the small one matches my .22-3-30 by Eley. I cannot locate it to confirm but the primer looks the same.I have round and flat tip.
The other is possibly the 7mm French revolver although the case lists 14.7mm as shortest.
It would still chamber in a .320 short even if 0.7mm shorter case.
There is so much variation in manufacture. This is possibly why nobody has answered yet. We are unsure.

    Hi ron3350,
Many thanks for your reply.....much appreciated.
The 21.6 OAL has turned out to be somewhat of an enigma.
The; 'late owner,' of this example had mostly Eley and Kynoch in their collection. Therefore; there is a possibility that it came from one of those manufacturers.
I'm hoping that someone will, at some point in the future, find a box of these and bring closure.
    Regards,

Looking at the 21.6 OAL again and repeatedly rotating it, the primer and pocket appears to be slightly asymmetrically located. Alternatively; the base itself is asymmetric.
Would this indicate a smaller workshop, rather than a manufacturer like Eley?

Appreciate that I'm probably; 'clutching at straws.'

I checked all dimension references again and decided the .320 Short Revolver best fits the ID.
I have two early Eley battery cup rounds. 14.0 case and 22.0mm overall. Other is 14.5 case and 22.6mm overall.
I reckon it is an early case keeping these shorter measurements and looks like an Eley primer.
Nothing else seems to fit but again I am no expert, just a collector like you. Cheers.
