Three 1st World War Drill Grenades.

Hi all.
Its been absolute ages since i last bought anything of note, then BANG! These three beauties turn up all at once. A lovely complete near mint No14 Drill Pitcher Grenade, A complete No22 Mk2 Drill Newton Pippin Grenade and a Near mint No27 Drill Grenade. As you can imagine i'm very happy at the moment:tinysmile_grin_t:. Enjoy the pictures.

Super trio there, Paul. The practice No.27 is a scarce one, and the paper liner/detonator sleeve for the No.22 must be exceedingly scarce. Excellent finds in such good condition - thanks for showing the pics.

if you look down on the top of the body the No13 will be round as its made of steel and probably cut on a
lathe, where as the No14 is a cast iron grenade and will look stepped as it had to come out of a 2 piece mould. The No14 is also much heavier. I'll get some pics done soon.

Externally, how can I make the difference between No13 and No14 ?
