EOD tool box ?

Hi folks,

I stumbled across this tool box. See pictures.
The inscription on the type plate translates "Toolbox for defusing of LM"
Unfortunately no more marking visible and not complete. Some tools like wrenches and handles are missing, just their shapes are painted onto the sheet metal.
I am not sure if this can be wartime or more post war EOD equipment. Even the "LM" on the type plate makes me thing what could be meant.
Of course it would be possible to guess that "LM" means LuftMine but it could also be an abbreviation for LuftMunition.
According to what I know about Luftminen and to what former EOD personnel told me the British Luftminen have been defused normally only by using a big pipe wrench and that's it. If I interpret the painted shapes right, there are at least two face wrenches and a wrench for slotted nuts inside. And this is stuff I can't connect to a Luftmine.
Does anybody know this or similar tool sets?VSYD8892.jpgTZQC0222.jpgADFF9930.jpgAFYG1867.jpgLWPB7965.jpgWLJX5158.jpg

Thanks for reading,

Hi,

I am definitely no expert according to air-dropped ordnance, but I tend to "Luftmine" in the meaning of "luftverlegbare Seemine" (aircraft-laid naval mine).

Found this, while I was looking for something else in the Internet.

In my opinion, the second link could describe, what you have found.

Edit: According to the copyright of this material and to determine to what extent you can use all that,

Hope this helps.

Hi, urg-86,
good find, on first sight it looks that you got it. Thanks! The Prüfstecker on Bild 1 form the manual is pretty much what is painted inside the top of the box. Ok, so we have a tool box for the LMA, LMB etc. air dropped gound mines. This indicates that this might be a war time box. There should be some marking somewhere, maybe hidden under the paint. With this info I think the the cylindric wrench with the cross bar for slotted nuts is similar to the Luftwaffen wrench, I attach which comes from a german WW2 bomb tool box , the Luftwaffen Munitionsgerätekasten. Thanks again, cheers, nudel
