1917 US Navy 3 inch Landing Gun Case

I found this in an antique store in Houston. I cannot tell if it has been cut. What is the correct length? I show this one to be 233 mm long or about 9.25 inches. How common or uncommon are these?

The 3 inch LG and 3 inch 23 cal cases are the same case, just marked different. They are fairly rare, but do turn up now and then.

I measured 3 cases. Most measure 9-3/16". One was 1/32" shorter
