Post WW2 surplus sales/disposal.

I will mention a story, awhile ago I collect and shot muzzle loading cannons and dealt with an Aussie in Perth. Bought / sold Dutch VOC cannons from him, one day he told me he found a pallet full of old MG belt loaders in a barn near Perth. I bought them, shipped them here ( US customs confiscated the shipment, I hired a shipping company to get them out), and to my surprise found they were Post WW1 1919 MG brass cloth belt loaders in the wooden boxes.....sold them all off, should have kept at least one, he had no idea how they ended up in a barn in Perth. He suspected they were left over from a US WW2 arms shipment.
