    Australian 25lb BDU-33 and F2 Spotting Charge.

I show my Australian 25lb Practice Bomb BDU-33 with an unmarked black (repaint?) one. Both have tail plates. Home-made nose.

    Stamped:
    1325-66-086-1381
    BOMB PRACTICE
    BDU-33 C/B (AUST)
    LOT 6 ADI/97

The current BDU-33 made in Benalla does not have the tail plate and simulates low-drag bombs.
The cartridge Spotting Charge F2 is used to give a distinct flash and white cloud on impact.
The print on the cartridge shown is worn and may be F1 ? (or F2).
I drilled the hole in the nose. It contained fine red powder.

The cartridge is 127mm long. 21.7mm base and mouth diam. 23.6mm rim.
Therefore over 1mm larger than a 12ga shotshell. Looks like crimped over the rim of an IMI shotshell base.
What does the C and C8 stand for? Possibly the filling compound?
