    SD2 Butterfly Fuze 41 67 or 70

I am after a mint 41, 67, 70 fuze for the SD2 butterfly bomb, bayonet type, i want to make up a SD2 myself as i have always fancied having one in the collection. I did have half a dozen of them years ago which you could buy as a small lot then i stripped down as every one else did and made two good ones as they are usually corroded. The worse part the bottom section where the gain screws into. Not sure what the market is today and what is available. The two i saved a 41 and a 67 for some stupid reason i swapped or sold on for something else. They are easy to strip and clean up. I was thinking of getting the bottom half moulded and cast in die cast metal like the original with someone who makes tin soldiers using the rubber vulcanising method by copying an mint original. Whats about. I will also be looking for a set of wings, there was a load going on ebay a while back that came out in a huge lot, some relics some good, not sure if collectors made a good set up from a number of relics, Not sure what the rate is now and availability just like the fuzes. There was a set going on Eastern front relics based in Latvia not sure what companies are good or steer clear from when buying these type of bits.

Ebay is a good place to start.
Just type in "SD2 Militaria" and put the search as worldwide and you'll find loads.

Wings vary widely in price and condition.
These are cheap but rusty and ceased but not too deformed. I bought 4 myself to make up some units with parts I already have

There are better ones on ebay but a problem with most of the rusted relic ones is the springs are often broken so whilst the wings may shut they won't spring open.

    Relic 41 fuzes are cheap

One of the sellers has been selling some nice 41 fuzes but I can't see any on there today. This is the completed listing to give you an idea.

The 67 and 70 fuzes are harder to find and cost quite a lot in decent condition unless you're lucky

As for finding anything SD 2 related in mint condition, well, its hard to find but not impossible :-)

    Hope this helps.

    Dave.

I have a couple of 41A's which are quite ok and a few 67's that when stripped-down, would make a nice example. PM me if interested and I will send you more info.
