Rheinmetall-Denel fatal explosion in South Africa

The explosion occurred in a building where propellant for 155mm shells was being mixed.

It’s a sad story about one of the deceased. He was just 21, the family’s sole breadwinner. He was about to join the Police and had passed the entrance exam. His brother had previously been shot in gang violence leaving him unable to work.

Hallo,
I know nothing about social lawa and regulations in South-Africa. But, it is the responsibility and duty of an employer, to take care of their employees in time of such calamities. Especially when it hits the sole bread-winner of a family. If this should not be the case here, I ask all responsible persons, newspapers and politicans , to put pressure on this very big multi-national. It is so easy for them to employ another family member, even if it is just a well paid job as cleaning or washing woman. If there is no suitable person available, a social calamity fund should be instituted, to take care of the family as long, until they are able again to take care of themselfes.
regards,
Bellifortis.
