Ken. The Kynoch shell only seems to fit German, Italian and Russian flare pistols in my collection. The rim is too wide to fit the British pistols so must be a contract.
The pistol will not close. The second one looks similar to my Czech case for the VZ-30 pistol. Ron.

Looking at that symbol on the 1938 one could be Czech I'll have another Browsing session

Cheers Ron

I can't find any information on this at all .????

Ken. My Czech case was headstamped ERHO 19 V37 37 and was 115mm long. It was ID on the IAA Forum. It was loaded with 8 stars.

Your case seems an unknown maker . V 38 = loaded by Jaroslav Velinsky in Jablunka, Czech in 1938.

Hi I just got permission from a chap in Czechoslovakia to share his pictures I have the PDF on it your correct unknown maker bud

I have read before that the K 27 flare cases were made to ship powder to a country possibly in South America.

This country apparently had an import tax on loose powder, but shipping the powder inside these cases apparently avoided this.

Hi Ken,
Yes, the Kynoch cartridge is a powder transport container. This can be seen in the inert primer, which was pressed in the wrong direction.Such cases were destined for Estonia. The army of this Country was after WW1 equipped with the German "Hebel"-pistol. Because Germany was not considered as an ammunition supplier at that time, signal cartridges and powder were purchased from the UK. The powder could not be transported loosely through Poland, it had to be loaded in a cartridge case. After removal of the powder, These cases were loaded in Tallinn as Signal cartridges.

What is the length of your Czech cartridge case?

Best regards
Horst
