Two pieces I've had for a while ,both relating to H.m.s York, damaged and beached after an attack by Italian explosive motorboats in Suda Bay ,Crete on the night of 25/26th March 1941.The carved wooden shield came from e bay many years ago ,it seems to be made from a piece of reused hardwood (maybe carved by a member of the crew ?)and the napkin ring bought recently at a local fair.Been born at York and living close by I thought they should come home

Been to Suda Bay Crete and had a look around the cemetery and went to the Gorge followed the path to were the troops escaped from the beach south of the island, quite a trek to follow..
