    Early 1pdr Pom Pom cases

These 2 Pom Pom cases turned up during a trip to Britany recently, I thought to post pictures are they are early, one Belgian and the other German. I think the German case is made in Spandau in 1888 and the other in 1898 in Mons Belgium. Just posted for general interest.

I thought Mons referred to the city in Belgium, do you think there is a French factory using this headstamp?

I think Mons is the capital of the Hainaut province in Belgium's Walloon region.

The first cartridge is not from Belgium. Ste Fse Mons is the acronym of Societe Francaise des Munitions (Gevelot).
    hope, this helps
