I picked up this Bofor round. Actually 1943 projectile.
It had the original tube which had been damaged.
It is missing the tracer unit , does any one have
one of these extra ? There were some available
some time ago.

Very nice round Gordon, I like Bofors stuff a lot. Interesting that the 251 Mk III fuze was made in 1940 but not filled until 1942. I've found that No. 12 tracers are very hard to come by.

The 1940 on the fuze is not a date, but a lot or some such number, just a coincidence.
The other one of these which I didn't keep has a different number in that place
that definitely isn't a date (well it is, but not for this !).

Hello everybody,
I would like to have some informations about 2 pounder MKII 1942 ammunitions.
Found in a LCT wreck during my dive near Cherbourg's cost, I would know if there was systematically a fuse attached to the 2 pounder when it was stocked or was the fuse uploaded before the shoot ?
And which fuse (n° ?) was associated with this ammunition ?

(I will post a picture of the bottom of the case in a next thread)

Thanking you

BERTRAND

I believe the 2pr AA ammunition was supplied in boxes loaded to belts or links and fully fuzed ready to go due to the rate of fire. 2pr ATK also supplied in boxes fuzed, you don't want to be fiddling with plugs and fuzes when in action with the either. But I am sure others will confirm or dispute my comments.
