The badly rusted remains were found by a neighbor during gardening in his local garden. Radius is approx. 95mm and the height of the attached brass fixture is 50mm. Any ideas ?

There is nothing to be seen on the underside, just dried earth and rust, that's why I did not photograph it. It is no part of a mine as to my knowledge.

Sorry for the brief answer, but not much time available. It looks a little bit like the base plate for some of the UK incendiary bombs. Some were fairly thin bodies with tail fuzes, seems like there were several sizes of similar designs.
