Hello,
I saw this rocket on a ww2 pacific war documentary.
What is it ? 5in ? (no visible fuze on head).

The first 5"in rockets developped by the USN in ww2 used a 3.5" rocket motor and a 5"in head. The 5" in head Mark 1 Mod 0 could be equipped with a nose plug in combination with a base plug Mark 146 (it's probably what we see on this photo) or with nose fuze Mark 149 or Mark 149.
See OP1157 fdated march 1945 for details.
