This definitive book is the first to describe and illustrate all of the British fuzes used and developed during WW1. Some of these were in service before WW1 and some continued into WW2, whereas others had very limited use before they were superseded. Many of the latter are virtually unknown and some of the drawings and photographs have never been published before. A wide range of sources were researched, many of which are not widely available, and are usually found in only a few military museums and libraries, as well as private collections.
There are 152 fuzes, 23 plugs and 42 fuze keys included, as well as gaines. Fuzes contain information on their background, List of Change references to introduction and obsolescence, detailed description, method of operation, marks, and where used. The majority have photographs or drawings and many have both. Plugs, keys and gaines are also listed with drawings or photographs.
