I think you might have a Naval connection with these items ? maybe this one is something to do with a depth charge ? only a guess.
 
Manufactured by MB = Mansill Booth & Co., Ltd. Cape Stamping Works, Smethwick, Staffordshire. In 1944, no month?
Filled by CY = Chorley, looks like May 1945.
