Does anybody know the meaning of the letters CRB on this 47mm shell which is 376mm long?
Also what is the meaning of the letters DW on the fuse and shell?
This is the base view of a British 3 Pounder Mk III* cartridge case made for the Royal Navy and filled with propellant at Crombie (CRB) which was a naval establishment and may still be a Royal Naval Armaments Depot (RNAD) unless axed in defence cuts.
I do not know who DW are but it looks as though they may have reworked the case.
