120mm tk round strip down

Hello all,

i have a 120mm tk practice round. Story is it was at the bottom of the sea. It's dated 10/97.

the aluminium bottom cap is very corroded, I would like to make a new one.
I have the drawings of the build, so know it's is threaded to locate. I have tried to remove it one with no joy!
so my question is would it be threaded locked ?? Or a left hand thread ??

I believe the base plug with tracers is left hand. Aluminum threaded into steel has a bad habit of galling the threads, and that is without the influence of salt water!

Things at the nose end are right hand threaded and most things e.g. base fuzes, tracers etc. at the base are left hand threaded to prevent the potential for unscrewing on firing.
I would not know about things of a more fixed nature, but it seems likely.
