Just received my second 17 Pounder Drill. Just gave it a quick clean up. The oak is much lighter than the first.

Am I wrong , or do you have a early mark 17 pounder where the gun was mounted on the chasis of a 25 pounder?
By the way, a very nice piece

Minenaz16,

As far as I am aware the two 'AA's are nothing more than an inspection mark.

Although the 'case' was originally made by ECC - Edward Curran Ltd, Cardiff, it has been converted to a drill round by 'SL' which I believe to be Sparklets Ltd, Upper Edmonton. N18 (manufacturers of Soda Syphons)
