you will find this also in Germany ;)

I have got a few 20rounds boxes full of blank ammo.
I think they was used for rifle granade.... but not sure.

Condition is very nice.
Unfortently they do not have any head stamp. Only box is with stamps.
The cartrigdes belongs since beginning to the box

Unfortenly also here no free item.
It must be empty. primer is still fine & alowed in Germany

Hi Tube8,
That's a very nice box of .303 blank. They are for exercise use not for grenade firing. I have seen the boxes before but not a full one and so I did not know there was no head stamp. This explains why I have no examples of a MkVz headstamp. I do however have the outer box from the same date!
Cheers
Gary

I have got some more....

there are two differend head stamp II.w.w.
1943 S R L.V. & RL 43 LV , with out box...

.303" blanks were common during WW2 without a headstamp, often they can a;lso be found with any load headstamp eg BIV (incendiary) as reject cases were also used for the manufacture of blanks....Gary,MkVz and Mk5z can be found headstamped as such.

Thanks Tony,
I just need to search harder!
If one box of blanks made on a certain date has no headstamps, what is the likelihood of the whole batch having no headstamps for that day????

Cheers

Hi Tube8,
Can you post a picture of the box for the Italian blank please?

The Mkv blank also came wrapped in bundles of 10 (blue wrapper red printing) although New Zealand made blank came in a buff wrapper with blue printing.

Cheers

Gary

here are two photos of the box.

Would the factory have been using up the remaining stocks of cases at this stage?

Of course the war had been over for a little more than two weeks when these were made.

Is the black tipped blank the BPD 952 headstamp, if so then according to my notes from Tony Edwards these are line throwing blanks rather than grenade blanks

Rich

Yes, correct... The black tipped blank are with stamp BPD 952
I was lucky to catch the complete box with 50rounds.
