NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE, DECEMBER 4, 1862. INVOICE OF ORDNANCE AND ORDNANCE STORES. 1 Page Document Printed and filled out in Ink.
"Invoice of Ordnance and Ordnance Stores transferred to Capt. Warren Edgarton.
" 100 Schenkl Shells 3.8, 30 Hotchkiss Shells 3.8, 12 Spherical Case Shot 12 Pdr. Howitzer, 14 Packing Boxes."
The OHIO FIRST LIGHT ARTILLERY was organized at Camp Chase and mustered in September 6th, 1861. This hard-fought union saw action at SHILOH, CORINTH, MUNFORDSVILLE, HUNTSVILLE, STONE'S RIVER, CHICKAMAUGA, RESACA, KENNESAW MOUNTAIN, JONESBORO, SPRING HILL, FRANKLIN, and NASHVILLE, among many others.
WARREN P. EDGARTON enlisted on 8/23/1861 at the age of 25, as Captain. On 11/19/1861 he was commissioned into Field and Staff OHIO 1st LIGHT ARTILLERY. He was promoted to Major on 6/16/1864. He resigned on 7/19/1864.
