2 and 6pdr Davis Gun cases

Ok so they will need a good clean but it’s surprising what still lurks in old sheds!
I can’t see any markings on the 6pdr but the 2pdr is lot 1 of January 1916.

Thanks Tony, that’s interesting. It’s quite amazing that the design pre dates WW1 by 4 years but took a while for the principle to catch on.
 
The Flat Nose projectiles were for shooting at submarines, so as to not bounce off the water. Same idea as the Railroad Bomb.
