2 Pounder projectile diameter.

What is the precise diameter in mm of a 2 Pounder projectile BELOW the driving band? I want to make a case resizing tool but I don't have an original projectile to measure from.

Falcon, which sort of 2 pounder? Wouldn't want to measure the wrong one.
They should all be about 40mm but if you want a precise measurement then its best to know which type.

I am interested in the short case (40 x 158R) anti aircraft type. I should have mentioned that.

the meaurement on my 2pr is 39.74mm it is a he projectile.
this measurement has been taken using a vernier

Have a practise shell measuring 39.82mm, and a proof at 39.8mm both taken with a verynear gauge, will check with a mike when I'm in the workshop next if you need. My advice would be make the dia to form the case a bit on the tight side of snug as you can always press the shell in leaving something in the case to rattle to proove its empty. 2pr
