AEM - Aron Electric Meters, Kilburn, London.
B. Ltd. - Bryce Ltd. Hackbridge, Surrey. (Also electrical contractors).

I think the two letter codes are a form of 'Lotting'

Fuze is the accepted British spelling for an ordnance item. Fuse being the accepted British spelling for an electrical item. Both establishments were electrical contractors and this is where the confusion might have come in.

That said, I have a safety box from ROF Chorley marked 'Fuse Heads'

I have a similar fuse but the only difference is B. LTD 57 AF 162 Mk4.
All the same except mine has AF and yours has BA. Just thought I would note a difference. Ron.

So were these an actual fuze, or a plug?

@US-Subs

I have seen a number of these in the past and the only difference I could find from a fully functional inert fuze was the marking on the cap. From what I remember the marking on cap had been amended to "Plug, Rep..." whereas these appear to be replacements. So, as far as I'm aware, they were functional fuzes re-designated as plugs.
