20mm Cannon Round I.D Wanted

I am looking for info on this 20mm cannon round. Fuze stamped 253 MKII /A SC-5-230 8-43, Projectile stamped AM 23128-1 8-42

What country?
What type of round is it?

Hello,

I assume HE round. As far as I know US and British used No 253 fuze.

Thanks for the info on the fuze i will take a read, one of the other members mentioned that the 253 fuze was used on British and US rounds, do you know from the stampings on there projectile if this round is British or American?

Based on the colour of the projectile -

SC - Scioto Ordnance Plant, Marion, Ohio.
