I have a similar mistake? in a case that is Australian. Can you give the case diameter and distance of the raised bit from the rim.
I cannot believe that it would chamber but the primer is fired. I have to locate my example and photo it to compare.

I cannot explain this case other than a faulty one? Mine has a hole drilled in it but I doubt it is any pressure test. It is not a true belt.
Both our cases match in dimensions exactly with my belt being 25.4mm wide and 25.0mm before the belt.
Both cases have fired primers, seals and mouth crimps BUT the mouth and shoulder are not deformed like a usual fired Oe case.
I measured an unfired Oe at the base and it was 24.8mm. A fired case usually expands a bit to around 25.2mm. All comments are welcome.

It certainly is a mystery as there seems to be a few around and around the world, all have struck primers, at this time i doubt they were just a bad batch ?

Is the case the full 110mm length, or could it be one for the clearing round types that were only 100mm?.
Another possibility is if this was a case only, fired in the Oerlikon cannon, without the usual A-P-I actioning of the Oerlikon (ie,case fully chambered and not ejected). this could account for the neck still being in place, not blown out as is usual on these fired cases.
