35MM Drill round

Spaceinvader

Well-Known Member
Just recently got this in the mail from a gentleman in England. It is a 35MM anti-aircraft drill round for the German Flak Panzer Gepard. When I was looking at the pictures, I did not think it would be THIS big. It is made of solid turned alloy. It has as a screw on projectile, and a hole where the primer would be. In the pictures it is compared to a .22 cartridge, a .50 caliber round and a pop can.

The screw on part came after it was cut in half when being scrapped and someone decided to make money of it and "fixed" it.

Ahh that makes sense because on the projectile you can see it was a bit roughly cut. Hmm interesting. But atleast it was put back toghether with skill. It properly lines up and the screw is perfectly centered. So who ever did it had some idea of what they where doing. Thanks for the info!
