37mm Projectile - Unknown

Hi,
I picked this projectile up some time ago and haven't been able to work out what it is, can anybody help?
There are no marking just the brass tip I found unusual.

Dia: 37mm
Height: 108mm
Overall Height: 119mm

Projectile: French MLE 1916 HE

Fuse: Unknown

A French Mle 1916 HE, it's missing it's bands and seems to be a lighter now ?

French MLE 1916 HE projectile, thanks again for the info. It does look similar to the one you have in pictures / collection.

I'm a little puzzled, are you saying the brass tip is not a fuse and probably belongs to a lighter mechanism?

The brass tip is hollow, has 3 holes in the side and one in the top.

Well it's something not original

The original top is a brass firing pin that screws in, creating a flat top with a slot in it. Often souvineered projectiles have a sharpish brass point added and riveted into the spot where the firing pin used to be.
