just finished this 3inch stokes mortar with no146 fuze,it is made of bits recovered at work and is to be sent down to the eoc office .The gain tube is a piece of wooden dowel and i have painted the body black but this is just to stop it rusting as the body is unfillered in as found condition.

Nice job Spotter, how long did it take you to put this lot together and get it sorted ? I am sure it will be an appreciated gift.
Best regards Weasel.

Its taken about a month alltogether to get the parts with only a few hours workcleaning and cutting it etc .
The round was no problem, the hardest part was keeping an eye open for bits n pieces for the fuze that hadnt been totally mashed on detonation,

Hi Spotter,
Just back from the Somme and found a few of these around with intact fuzes if you cared to dismantle them!!! Helped a farmer move a British 9.2 inch round he had just ploughed up and there were lots of live rounds about(18 pdr, 4.5",6" British and 77mm, 10.5cm,15cm,light and medium minenwerfer German and French 75's.
regards
Richard
