I thought this one would be of interest.
A big thank you to the 2 people on the forum who tipped me off that it was for sale.
Its a German 4.2 cm squeezebore projectile.
All INERT and empty.
The first photo shows it next to the far more common 2.8cm squeezebore projectile.

If anyone has any squeezebore projectiles for sale/trade I would be interested in hearing from you.

Thanks.

Dave.

It is very interesting to see pictures of such a rare item. I don't think I have ever seen the Sprgr. projectile before. Thank you for taking the time to create this thread.

Is this your first 4.2cm projectile?

Thanks, I've got a few of them.
There's a couple of sectioned ones here - see post 8 for both of them (one used as my avatar).
I'll dig out some photos of the other relic ones I have.

Here a drawing of both projos in comparison

and the cartridges

.
Does anyone know if the AZ 5072 fuze used in the 4.2cm PAK41 is unique to the projectile or was it used in others? The HE projectile I have is rough and it would be nice to get a better fuze.
Dave.

The AZ 5072 was also used on the 2,8 cm Sprenggranate (28/20 HE) of the s.Pz.B.41 (squeeze bore).

Just a few old black and white photos I have to add to this thread.
I wonder where these ones got to....if only!!
Dave.
