4.5" Who is the manufacturer ?

This is the poor old 4.5". I hope it
cleans decently. It is at least well marked.
Is anyone familiar with this maker ?
Usually if it's over here it was made here,
but not always.

It's a shower of powdered rust, but all sorts of markings are showing up on the sides
though a bit faint yet. So it's coming along.

Just wanted to chip in to say a very nice piece, well done. I'm a great admirer of the old 4.5".
Cheers.

It cleaned up well. I think that it was polished at one time, this accounts for the
smooth surface and some what faint markings. At least it wasn't nickel plated
and drilled like a lot of these. I cleaned it as far as I wanted without going to
bare metal using fine sand paper. It has fine pitting but that doesn't show badly
and I waxed it for some protection, removable easily enough. It replaces one without
markings that was nickel plated.
Still wondering who made it and I can't find my list of companies that did make these ~

Further image recovery, though I last posted this in 2012 and many may have missed it.

Gspragge, What type of wax did you use, I've tried a few in the past , always a bit hit and miss though.
Superb looking piece, congrats!

I use what ever is on hand, this time Briwax mahogany , black or dark brown shoe polish works also. This is all on unpainted
dark surfaces that are aged and not cleaned to bare shiny metal (usually with fine surface pitting-the wax slightly fils these and they are less obvious).
On a painted surface if one wanted to use wax then a clear wax, the same on a bright steel surface.
