Has anybody information and specially drawings of this 4 inch Britsh projectile.

quick reply without any research: 4inch is a naval calibre and the missing band width would point that way as well. hole in the base for a tracer? cant read the stampings very clearly. No crimp groove so seperate loading 4in so could be a range of guns previous post will give case lengths if not I can list my few if you want. flat end or is it hollow and threaded. if flat its probably to limit butt penetration (!) My guess would be British.

All I have are photo's it is British found in New Zealand.
It is about 12 inch long and it looks solid to me.
So AP with a tracer probaly.

not sure about AP as from memory naval did not use ap solid but piercing shell with HE filling because ships aren't armoured like tanks, I think this is more high angle (AA) practice, internal tracer would be because its seperate loading, an external would be easily damaged.
