Here is a 50kg on my kitchen floor, it has a 55 fuze with fuze locking ring & gain, been told its origional paint ! and the tail has been repainted at some point, its the rare aluminium tail, in good conditon and well stamped, waffenampt, also has the lifting loop that screws in near the fuze.. now it stands next to the fire place tail up for people to see as the come in ;) this will be going on tour this year with the pontifract home guard bomb disposal group ! sorry my camera is a bit **** !!

A very nice example you have there of an SD50.

(I think the tail ought to have red stripes as opposed to yellow fins though as red denoted SD as opposed to yellow which was reserved for the SC bombs.)...........whatever it looks very nice as it is!!!

Thankyou for posting the pictures!!

Kind regards
Kev

Nice one! have a bit of a fetish to 50kg's, my one also has ali fins but some repair was required as they had been dropped by the luftwaffe, inconsiderate bliters! Should have "oxide" red stripes from top to bottom, also some stenciling but never did manage to find out what stenciling exactly.

Did you get it from specialist auctions?

Very nice indeed. I'm sure I saw it on Specialist a while back?
Heavy little buggers are those SD's.

I have a couple for restoration by my good pal from Dagenhem. Good catch, thanks for posting pics.
