5cm projectile ID

Can anyone ID this projectile? Measurements are 50mm x 151mm and it is bored through the center to the base, which looks originally done when manufactured. Looking at the driving bands could this be Dutch?

I have seen something similar in 37mm which was said to be chalk filled and practice. TIA

Burney

In Dutch it is called Oefenbrisantgranaat Nummer 1, translated into English it would be something like "Practice High Explosive projectile"

Chris

Chris’s blueprint is showing a threaded fuze hole and a steel plug. The shells without a threaded fuze hole were closed by a wooden plug.
I will look if I can find a drawing of that one.

I can't see a thread in that picture, the plug and hole look flat sided.......

That is a matter of drawing. There are 4 notations in front of the fuze hole, the 3rd from above reads: 3/4 “ gasdr. , which means 3/4 inch gas pipe threading.

I found a blueprint of your shell. It’s designation is: Granaat van 5 cm snelvuur voor schietoefeningen (Marine). Translated: Shell of 5 cm quick firing for target practices (Navy). There are 2 models, old model with a cylindrical fuze hole, new model with a tapered hole. The wooden plug is also shown on the drawing.
These 5 cm shells were common black powder shells and when obsolete they were used as / converted to practice shells. Period 1910 - 1925.
The quick firing gun was manufactered by Krupp. The case used 50 x 337 R77.
