Hi all,

Have had this proj for many years; was told it was American.
OAL about 12"
Dia. in front of driving bands 2.937"
Dia. immediately behind bands 2.914", increasing to 2.948"
Dia of tracer cavity is 0.784", and depth 2.786". The hole has a left-hand thread.
Driving bands are 0.562" wide, with a gap of 0.314" between them.

In this gap is stamped FY-JH-FY-4-58-POT
On the base is stamped M (in circle), B (in circle), and E (in circle) overstamped with something I cannot make out, in a rectangle. There is also a pair of crossed cannon barrels, with a 4 above, and 11 below.

Who made it, when, in what country, and for what gun is it intended, please?

Thanks in advance,
Roger.

Hello,

It's a French "75mm POT Mle 51" ("Perforant Ogiv Traceur").
It's an armor-piercing tracer shot with ballistic cap model 1951 (APCT). They also made a PCOT (APCBC).
Color : black with white markings
For tank AMX13 and Panhard EBR (gun CN 75-50)

Regards
