@Spot
Now that is interesting!
I did not know the Britts produce these rounds.
Not even the brand name.. could this be a license
build of ARGES?

Pictures or tech details anyone?

@missing
i saw the name Simmunition mentioned several times..
Is that the Canadian firm you are refering to?

Cheers
Dillo

Many thanks Gents for the info, pics and links, more things to read up on ! Tony.

Since posting my original message, I have managed to get these two British made ARWEN inert rounds. Note one has a commercial .44 magnum cartridge as a propellant.

Nice rounds. There is also a grey frosted .44 Magnum case with the commercial headstamp and pink primer seal.

Forgot to mention headstamps etc, the headstamp on the AR-1 round is:-
CFP T 11/93 003. and on the .44 magnum cart : W-W SUPER 44 REM MAG.
On the AR-5P round the headstamp is MON 10/86 T. There is no headstamp on this propelling cartridge which is steel in this case.

I acquired this Arwen CS round off a fellow BOCN member a few weeks ago ,can any tell me how many different loadings were made for the Arwen British and Canadian ?regards Dave

Nice item Dave, would look great with my other ARWEN rounds and batons Too ! ;)

There is a website for the current manufacturers of the weapon, will try and find it for you. There were lots of different loads available from non British sources, not quite so many of our own I think. Tony.

All the early Arwen rounds were fitted with primers that consisted of cut-down commercial Winchester .44 Magnum cases which were closed with a roll crimp. Later (British) ones utilised the specially made steel primer cups which i believe were made by Radway Green. Here is the Winchester type.

Regards
TonyE
