Have just received word that Barry Temple passed away last Saturday aged 76 after a short stay in hospital. Barry wrote a number of books on 303 British ammunition and Boxer cartridges. He will be sadly missed.
Les
I knew Barry for about 40 years, but he only came to the UK once, back in the early nineties. It was March and he froze, having rarely left his native Queensland with its tropical temperatures. I had to lend him all my ski kit to keep warm!
A big loss to the ammunition collecting and researching world. I never met him, but had corresponded with him and spoken to him by 'phone. He was a very nice chap, and very knowledgeable about .303s, especially the Australaian variants, and I would recommend his books to any collector.
