No, it's the other way around. The CIA supplied the chinese arms and ammunition to the Mujahedeen, because they were the best suited for this type of warfare and the cheapest. So cheap in fact, that the russian factory manufacturing the AK 47 lost most of their customers and went bankrupt.
 
not so new the NVA/VC use to use the same set up for their 107 and 140mm rockets. After taking in coming we would find the launch sites and there would be the piles of dirt or sticks they used to set the rockets on. The real finds were when we found 122mm launch sites with misfired rockets still in place.
